the title of the magazine, often at the top of the page as it is the first thing people see.
the font style and colour needs to be chosen carefully to help sell the magazine, it also gives indication about the content of the magazine.
similarly, the name of the magazine will be carefully chosen.
for example, this magazine 'Good Housekeeping' has a simple font, and the colour chosen, pink, represents women or girls, who it mostly the target audience of the magazine.
also, the fact the title is at the top, makes it so it is one of the first things the reader sees.
Tag Line.
this goes near the masthead, and is sometimes attached to it. it shows that the magazine is about or who it might be aimed at.
Central Image.
this is one of the most important parts of the front cover as it catches a reader's eye before they look at the printed text. the central image will be relevent to the magazine's purposes and audience, and will often be strongly related to the feature atricle.
in front cover analysis, much can be said about the central image. so much can be denoted and connotede from this image.
The Cover Model.
this may be a magazine, or well known individual connected with the magazine's genre. or it may be a photographic model.
